Wix Review (2026)

Is Wix worth it? An in-depth review across ease of use, templates, eCommerce, SEO and pricing — every pro and con, and who should (and shouldn't) use it.

We've built and run multiple sites on Wix. This review is what we learned — no hype, just what you need to decide.

Verdict: 4.5 / 5

Wix is the most beginner-friendly website builder available, period. It trades deep flexibility and portability for an exceptionally hassle-free experience.

Pros

  • Lowest learning curve: genuinely no-code; first-timers ship something real in 30 minutes;
  • High-quality templates: 900+ designer-made options with solid mobile adaptation;
  • Fully hosted: servers, SSL, backups and security updates all handled — no hacked sites, no maintenance windows;
  • Everything built in: blog, store, bookings, memberships, email marketing — no plugin compatibility roulette;
  • Capable AI builder: draft quality is noticeably better than rivals, cutting cold-start time.

Cons

  • No template switching after publish: a wrong pick means rebuilding — the most common complaint;
  • Hard to leave: migrating away means manually moving your content (blog posts export partially via RSS);
  • Limited deep customization: the Velo dev mode exists, but complex interactions aren't Wix's home turf;
  • Multi-site costs add up: every site needs its own subscription;
  • Not ideal everywhere: servers are outside some regions, so local load speeds vary by market.

Who Should Use Wix

Good fit: SMB websites, personal portfolios, small-to-mid online stores, booking-based service businesses, and anyone non-technical who needs to launch fast.

Poor fit: projects needing deep custom development, teams planning frequent platform changes, or businesses whose audience is concentrated in regions where Wix's infrastructure is slow.
